There are many cosmetic treatments available some involve surgical procedures such as a brow lift or a breast uplift. However, non surgical cosmetic treatments are a popular, non invasive choice for many people which do not carry the health risks associated with many surgical procedures.

Botox can be used to reduce wrinkles on the forehead, between the brows, the eye area and around the mouth. Botox can also be used the on lower face and neck area, usually this is used in conjunction with dermal fillers. Smiling or frowning is a result of a nerve signal from the brain, Botox blocks these signals which results in the skin becoming smoother and unwrinkled. The resulting smoother skin is noticeable after about eight days, although it can be a further two or three weeks before the full effects are seen. The Botox injections last for between twelve to sixteen weeks, however, with repeated treatments the effects begin to last slightly longer.

BioSkinJetting is carried out by beauticians, thin probes are inserted into a wrinkle and then agitated, this detaches the top layer of skin and encourages the production of natural collagen fibres. The developing fibres push the top layer of skin out reducing the appearance of the wrinkle. This non surgical cosmetic treatment takes less than an hour to carry out, but it may be necessary to have up to five sessions every two weeks before the wrinkles begin to fade.

Microdermabrasion is another non surgical cosmetic treatment which lessens the appearance of fine lines, uneven pigmentation, and blackheads. Microdermabrasion is used to realign the skin cells in the surface layer of skin and to stimulate collagen growth, which thickens the skin and can help to fight the signs of ageing, as well as help improve scarring.

Chemical peels can be effective surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments. Peels are designed to improve skin appearance, uneven pigmentation, acne scarring and are also used to reduce the effects of smoking and sun exposure. Chemical peels quicken the removal of old, dead skin cells to promote new cell growth. There are three types of chemical peels available; superficial, medium or deep. With all peels it is necessary to prepare the skin prior to the treatments to ensure that it is the best possible condition.

Superficial peels can be carried out by beauticians as they only remove the top layer of skin, however repeated treatments are usually necessary to maintain the effect.

Medium peels are carried out by doctors as they remove skin from both the top and middle layers, these peels last for between six and twelve months.

Deep peels have ‘lasting effects’, however they must be carried out by a surgeon or dermatologist as a local anaesthetic or sedative may be required. There will be peeling, redness and swelling which can last up from two weeks to three months depending on the individual and the type of peel used.

Although they are not as invasive as cosmetic surgery procedures, cosmetic treatments still require a great deal of consideration and can be expensive, however if treatments are needed to reduce scarring after trauma they may be included in the cost of the initial procedure.

Although in ancient times perfume was merely the distillation of floral essences, perfume of today is created with both synthetic chemicals and nature based materials derived from either animals or botanical means.

Many individuals can suffer from health risks when using or being around others who use perfume as well as those who suffer from perfume
allergies. Since the formulas used to make perfume is consider trade secrets by the manufacturers who make them, they are not required to list
the ingredients of their perfumes, so they generally list them as fragrance on their perfume bottle labels.

Not knowing exactly what may be in any particular perfume leaves physicians lacking the information they need to make a determination of
exactly what may be causing an allergic reaction or what may pose as a health risk to some people.

Here is a list of some ingredients that may or not be in any particular perfume:

- Benzaldehyde

- Benzyl acetate

- Benzyl alcohol

- Camphor

- Ethanol

- Ethyl acetate, which is on n EPA Hazardous Waste list

- Limonene

- Linalool

- a-Pinene

- g-Terpinen

- a-Terpineol

Some of these chemicals can make people ill, as they may suffer from these symptoms or illnesses that may be irritated by using or being in
close contact with someone wearing perfume products.

- Rashes

- Hives

- Dermatitis

- Eczema

- Sinusitis

- Asthma

- Sever headaches

- Nausea

- Central Nervous System disorders

- Fatigue

- Drowsiness

- Impaired vision

- Trouble concentrating

- Irritation of the eyes or upper respiratory tract

- Confusion

- Convulsions

- Uncontrollable coughing or sneezing

- any other numerous reactions depending upon the person and the chemical that is irritating them

Keep in mind when wearing any perfume product, especially a designer perfume, that it may not necessarily the scent that may be irritating an allergy sufferer, rather, it is a chemical of

the perfume offsetting an allergic reaction or even a health risk. Most of the time you do not even realize that someone may be allergic to

perfume until they suffer a bout with their allergies while being around you.

Since perfumes today are created by using different types of, chemicals they can in turn create allergic reactions and can sometimes make
worse existing conditions. When using a new or different perfume you should try a perfume sample, to make sure you are not allergic to it.

Anytime you show signs of an allergic reaction or a health risk of perfume, you should immediately stop using it, while becoming aware of its
ingredients. If an allergic reaction to perfume becomes sever, you should also consult with your physician to try to find out what may be an
allergy trigger or allergen for you. However, if you find you are not allergic to perfume and it poses no health risk to you and those around
you, you will more than likely be able to use that particular perfume product.

When in comes to face and body treatment products, it can be hard finding ones that actually work. With so many companies trying to get their piece of the skin care market pie, you can’t easily tell the difference between effective products and worthless ones. Here’s how you can make the whole process of finding face and body treatment products much easier.

First of all, you can forget about finding face and body treatment products that are priced below $10-$15. Effective anti-aging products are made with the best ingredients that science and cell rejuvenation technology has to offer, which quite frankly are expensive to process and add to products.

So it’s safe to say that you won’t find effective face and body treatment products at your local drug store or department store. This is where all the cheap skin care products are sold.

It’s more convenient anyways to look for face and body treatment products on the Internet. It’s amazing how much more you can learn about a product on the web. Instead of just reading what it says on a product label at the store, you can find out what ingredients are used in the product and why they chose to include those ingredients.

As far as ingredients go, the best face and body treatment products contain all natural ingredients. Organic substances tend to work in synergy with your skin’s natural oils and are accepted well by your skin. They also pose little threat of causing negative side effects and reactions (unless you are allergic to them).

When it comes to keeping your skin firm and elastic, it all comes down to collagen and elastin protein. These are structural proteins that are responsible for preventing aging signs from forming.

But as you get older, your body cannot produce as much collagen and elastin protein as it use to. Plus, damage from free radicals damage collagen and elastin protein further lower the amounts of proteins in your skin.

A recent breakthrough in cell rejuvenation technology has made it possible to stimulate the natural production of collagen and elastin inside your body. By using face and body treatment products with ingredients like CynergyTK(TM), you can keep your collagen and elastin levels as high enough to prolong the aging process on your skin for years.

These days in the fast moving life where everyone is so busy there is hardly anytime left to take care of our body, teeth, etc. Even if we take good care of ourselves, it is important that we do not overlook the dental care of our kids.

It is extremely important that you understand the basics of children’s dental and oral care, because at this stage of dental care you are going to lay down a healthy and a strong dental care for the future. One best way which can help you to familiarize with the oral care needs of your child so that they have strong dental habits in the future is that you can educate yourself with the various fundamentals of children’s dentistry.

Oral Hygiene

It is important that the children’s brush your teeth twice and regular dental check ups are important in building good oral hygiene at an early age. It is important hat you brush your child’s teeth until they are big enough to do so. Brush your child’s teeth the right way. Select a small and a soft brush and pea size tooth paste is enough as it will not interfere in your brushing and it will not form much foam also.

Preventing Tooth decays by Cavities

Tooth cavities can be easily be prevented by good oral health, however some additional steps can be incurred to maintain your child’s tooth against the attack of cavities. You can use toothpaste which contains fluoride. As soon as your child’s permanent teeth have erupted it is important that you speak to the dentists about the application of sealants. Sealants are clear and a protective coating applied on the biting surfaces of the back teeth. The sealant protects against the cavity from shielding against the bacteria and plague. They are mostly placed on the back teeth, because these are the areas where there are more chances of being attacked by cavities.

Dental Habits

Although the children can develop good oral habits at an early age it is equally important that they break the bad habits like going to bed with a bottle, this is an extremely bad practice drinking any fluid which has sugar in it can cause the tooth decay very fast as the sugar substances react on the teeth throughout the night which in turn can cause the tooth decay as early as possible. Another habit which is considered as bad is the thumb sucking or the finger sucking habit. It is also a very bad practice to swallow the tooth paste.

Dental Problems

Incase your child does develop cavities in his baby teeth that it is important that you visit a dentist and get his cavities filled. Do not be in the assumption that there is no requirement of the cavities to be removed because the baby teeth would inevitably fall down, many kids do retain their baby kids for a long time and the cavities can be very painful at times.

Gum disease is a serious mouth infection that can lead to tooth loss if left untreated. The gums, bones, and surrounding tissues of the tooth can become inflamed and develop the disease slowly, which makes it difficult to self-diagnose – only by going to the dentist on a regular basis can you ensure the prevention of gum disease.

Gum disease usually finds its beginnings when the bacteria inside of the plaque that forms on your teeth causes an inflammation of the gums. At the very least, the gums will become red and swollen, and will bleed very easily – often with as little abrasion as brushing your teeth. This kind of gum disease is known as gingivitis, and is often caused by a lack of oral care. Regular brushing and flossing correctly will usually stave off the development of gingivitis, however if the disease develops and is left untreated, it can lead to the more severe form of gum disease known as periodontitis.

Periodontitis is the development and spread of plaque below your gum line, causing the plaque to release a toxin that will irritate one’s gums and slowly begin to stimulate a response: chronic inflammation of the mouth. When this happens, the gums begin to separate from the teeth, as the bone and surrounding tissues that are supposed to support the teeth begin to break down. The pockets between gums and teeth are then highly susceptible to infection, resulting in the eventual loss of the effected teeth.

The best way to avoid developing gum disease is to practice preventative oral care. Regular dental visits and cleanings will help to diagnose any early signs of gum disease, and eating a healthier diet will actually improve dental health. Products such as alcohol and tobacco will increase the risk of gum disease – reduce alcohol consumption to avoid developing excess plaque, and quit smoking. If caught at an early stage, gum disease can be easily treated and reversed. However, this requires personal cooperation and an awareness of the need for proper oral hygiene.

Typically, Angular Chelitis is an infection of both sides of the corner of the mouth. The cracks or splits look a little like paper cuts but get inflamed and red, with a whitish hue. This is a fungal infection, left unchecked it can often lead to a fully blown infection of the mouth. Candida or oral thrush is contagious and the tongue develops a whitish hue.

Millions of Americans suffer from this condition every year. Typically an attack persists 3 or 3 times a year, with some sufferers tolerating the condition on an almost semi permanent basis. Angular Chelitis is not life threatening and it is not contagious. It is however an insidious condition, that is painful and very unattractive.

The legions being right on the face, they are difficult to conceal even with make up because of the crustiness of the corners of the mouth. Angular Chelitis has been traced back to a vitamin deficiency particularly iron which can be found plentiful in lean red meat. However, sufferers report they can have an attack around the beginning of winter or during a cold snap. This points to the fact that the bacteria lay dormant even when the symptoms of the cracked corners of the mouth are not present. The immune system becoming weakened because the person failed to keep warm…the bacteria get a chance to flair up.

This condition is difficult to cure or control for that matter. Most people, with Angular Chelitis would do anything to be rid of the affliction.

Chances are high that you have an oral health problem. Professionals estimate that perhaps as much as 80% of the adult US population suffers from some form of gum disease.

Clearly, if this is the case, something is very, very wrong. How could it be true that so many suffer from gum disease? Don’t most of us go to the dentist on a regular basis to get our teeth cleaned? Don’t most of us brush and floss our teeth every day? How could the percentage of people that have gum disease be so incredibly high?

Fighting or preventing gum disease is a complex problem in the sense that there are many facets to look at. That is not to say that gum disease itself is hard to conquer. No.

There is a small minority of people that will suffer from gum disease no matter what. But the vast majority of people are not doomed in this way. It is really a matter of understanding and taking action.

Therein lies part of the problem. Understanding what gum disease is and what is needed to stop it or prevent it from coming back once it has been checked is desperately needed by the majority of people.

Information about gum disease in the quantity and quality necessary is not always forthcoming from the sources we might expect to provide it. There is one notable exception. Periodontists have special training in gum care. The focus of their practice is on the health of the gums.

There is an entire profession devoted to gum health and disease. Isn’t that just another clue? That eighty percent statistic isn’t so far fetched after all, is it? Statistics do vary, you may hear that the number of people with gum disease is anywhere from 40 percent to 95 percent of the population. Whatever the truth really is, it is clear that a lot of people suffer from periodontal problems.

Even so, information and understanding is part of the problem. If you understood what gum disease is and how it sets up residence in the mouths of most human beings, you should have a much better chance to stop it, check its progress or prevent it in the first place.

Yet, so few have that level of understanding, judging by the statistics provided by oral care professionals. How can this lack of knowledge be addressed?

It would be great if there was a book written by a lay person that relates personal experiences and simply and directly relates, in easy to understand terms, the reality about gum disease. As a person who has suffered from gum disease and gingivitis, I have to believe that such a book would be of benefit to every person out there.

If you aren’t part of the eighty percent, then you need to prevent active gum disease from affecting your oral health. You also have loved ones that should be protected from the ravages of gum disease.

This article is not meant to offer advice, it is for information purposes only. If you have or think you might have gum disease or any other oral health problems, you should visit your periodontist, doctor or dentist for diagnosis, advice and treatment.

Health insurance doesn’t have to be about a full, comprehensive policy. Sometimes, a policy that covers the possibility of an accident or major surgery is all that we really need. With catastrophic insurance coverage you can get this important coverage without the high premiums sometimes associated with regular health insurance policies.

Catastrophic insurance plans (also called major medical plans) do not cover any expenses related to preventative care, minor wound care, or any kind of health monitoring service. Instead, they cover some of the expenses associated with major, catastrophic illnesses and accidents. If you are sent to emergency room, it is likely that much of that expense will be covered by your catastrophic policy. Other expenses covered include hospital expenses like room, board and incidentals, surgical expenses, and physician expenses.

Like any insurance policy, catastrophic plans have limits and deductibles. You will be required to pay the deductible amount out of pocket, then the insurance company will step in and pay their portion of your expenses, up to the limit.

Because the insurable incidents covered by catastrophic plans are so limited, the premiums tend to be low and widely affordable. As with any policy, choosing a high deductible and low limit further limits the risk of expense to the insurance company and will result in even lower rates-but as with any insurance policy, consumers must make sure that they choose a deductible they can afford and a limit that is reasonable and still offers a relevant benefit.

Catastrophic policies are not for everyone. If you have a chronic illness or injury, a catastrophic policy can step in when a major medical incident occurs, but will not give you the day-to-day and preventative coverage that you may need in order to live a long and healthy life. But if you are unable to secure a regular health insurance policy and don’t yet qualify to join the high risk pool for your state, then it may be a helpful alternative.

When it comes to face skin care for men, there are 4 key health issues that every daily regime should address in order to keep the skin healthy and youthful. This article will explain what these 4 things are and how to treat them safely and effectively.

1. Inflammation

Men are especially prone to inflammation, which can lead to many skin and health conditions. This is because it can speed up the breakdown of important structural proteins in the skin. Since a man shaves everyday and is exposed to the natural elements so often, it’s important to keep inflammation in check.

Look for mens face skin care products with all-natural ingredients like witch hazel and shea butter. These ingredients keep inflammation in check and in turn slow down the aging process of the skin.

2. Free Radicals and Oxidative Stress

Free radicals are created in your body thanks to things like UV radiation, poor nutrition, and diet. These unstable molecules destroy your skin cells and speed up the aging process.

Using creams and lotions with potent antioxidants is an important part of any face skin care for men regime. Look for antioxidants that can penetrate deep down into the skin like CoQ10 and other all-natural ones like vitamin E.

3. Loss of Water Retention

As both men and women get older, they are not able to retain as much moisture in the skin. As a result, the skin is often dry and it ages unnecessarily fast.

One of the best ways to counter this effect is to stop the destruction of hyaluronic acid, a substance in all of your cells that is primarily responsible for retaining moisture. Mens face skin care products with ingredients like Phytessence Wakame actually stop the activity of the enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid (called hyaluronidase).

4. Decrease in Collagen and Elastin Production

This one is VERY important, especially when it comes to preventing aging of the skin. Collagen and elastin are the structural proteins in your skin that determine how firm and elastic it stays. But with age comes a decreasing ability to produce these proteins.

I always make sure that the skincare products I use contain a certain ingredient called CynergyTK. It’s the only ingredient of it’s kind to actually stimulate natural collagen and elastin production. But as an added bonus, it also stops the major biochemical pathway of inflammation (PGE2) AND defends the body from harmful free radicals as well.
