Have you ever stopped to wonder why you are using a foundation primer daily when you have never worn one in the past? There really are a lot of factors that go into our decisions as consumers to purchase cosmetics products. We just never seem to notice them, or stop to think “What the heck?”.

Advertising is where it all begins. Have you ever noticed that when you purchase a Vogue Magazine it is generally more ads than genuine content worth reading? Those ads are the subliminal message to get you thinking..UM???? Can I really reduce my wrinkles by 50%? WOW! and my answer to you would be probably provided you haven’t used any skincare on your face recently. We are all such victims of advertising and I suppose I should just be happy that American Idol isn’t only 15 minutes out of the hour block. They (the powers that be) know exactly how long we will tolerate commercials associated with leisure TV viewing. Advertising goes hand in hand down the victimized path of Trending.

OH MY GOSH! I am a slave to trends. If I wake up in the morning and read that Pink lipstick is on it’s way out, then look for it in my cosmetic graveyard. I must admit I have lived through many ghastly trends such as those VERY DARK Twiggy eyes and gauze shirts. You need to learn to embrace trending and configure it to benefit you. The “BOB” hairstyle is hot right now and I have never seen a women that could not wear this style in one fashion or another. And if the advertising and trending can’t get you to whip out that credit card they haven’t won yet!

Have you ever wondered how the lipstick you just purchased won not only the right to ride home in your car but also valuable space in your purse when it wasn’t even in your mind when you first set off on your trip to the store? Simple…GREAT Merchandising. Entire careers are made on merchandising and the best man (probably women) wins when he has his product out front and at eye level view. Yes! Your eye level and it is very calculated & contrived. Have you ever considered what it really took to get all those bottles of Nail Poilish in addition to matching lipsticks at the head of the aisle in your local Walgreens or CVS. Another interesting fact is I am certain that Walgreens knows exactly what it is worth to that cosmetic vendor to get his..Oops HER placement right where she wants it…Right in front of your face when you walk through the door.

Many women love cosmetics and own a lot of them. So how do you keep everything organized? Sometime in history someone came up with the idea of the cosmetic container. This container keeps cosmetics in one place so that you’re not searching around for that certain lipstick or that concealer stick that you know you had just yesterday. You are able to reach in, choose the cosmetic that you want, use it, and then replace it into the cosmetic container. That makes this simple invention such a novel idea.

However, throughout the years, the cosmetic container has evolved. Cosmetic companies have come up with innovative ideas to make them more stylish, more economical, and capable of storing various capacities of makeup. An individual can actually have a small lipstick case with a mirror and nothing else. Then again, a woman can carry a case in her purse that houses her foundation, lipstick, blush, eyeliner, and all of the cosmetic items she needs to do a quick refresh. The cosmetics industry has always been huge, but the cosmetic container has helped make it even bigger.

Because there are so many choices, a person should not have a problem choosing which will fit their particular line of cosmetic items. However, the excessive choices can make the decision-making process rather difficult. It is because there are so many designs and so many different materials to choose from. It can be daunting. However, this choice in designs has now brought uniqueness amongst the cosmetic container. This shows how much something so simple and basic has evolved over the years from necessity to accessory.

It is obvious that the cosmetic container comes in many variations. There are, however, various other types of containers. Some look like the boxes your husband uses to store fishing tackle! However, they have special compartments for certain cosmetic items. This allows an individual to store their entire vanity in this one cosmetic container and take it with them wherever they go. This keeps everything neat and organized and ready to use whenever they need it.

The evolving history of something so simple is utterly fascinating and allows an individual to express their individuality in just one more way. There is nothing wrong with being different from the rest and a cosmetic container can do just that. Just imagine the many possibilities and how exciting it is to be just a little bit different from the rest!

Are you a fashion victim who’s wreaked havoc on her body and appearance, in an attempt to follow the latest fads, trends and styles? Well, you’re not alone. For decades, women have suffered in order to appear beautiful and trendy, only to end up regretting it later.

Fortunately, new technologies and innovations in plastic surgery can repair what fashion has disfigured. Two such popular new cosmetic surgeries are ear lobe jobs and stiletto surgery. These procedures can help undo the damage caused by heavy earrings and towering heels.

Ear lobe jobs may sound silly, but for any woman with a penchant for long, dangling earrings it’s a miracle. Heavy earrings pull down the lobe, creating a stretched look or in some cases causing tears. Not only does it distract attention from the earring to the affected ear, but it can even be painful. Many women find that they cannot even wear earrings if the problem becomes too severe.

There are a few different methods that help restore a stretched or torn earlobe. One that helps ease soreness is the use of a plumping injectable. The substance is injected into the lobe, adding volume to sagging skin. The results last for up to a year and will provide a comfortable cushion, preventing the lobe from drooping. The procedure costs only a few hundred dollars and there are minimal risks.

For more severe cases, a “purse-string method” can often correct tears and excessive droop. The cosmetic surgery basically removes the piercing opening. The hole where the ear was originally pierced is cut out and a “purse-string” knot is sutured at the top of the incision site, closing it up. It helps the lobe return to its original shape and there is no visible scarring.

After a week the stitches can be removed and the ears can be pierced again once fully healed. Afterwards, you should avoid wearing heavy earrings, especially for long periods of time. Like using an injectable, there are few risks for this quick, inexpensive procedure. And if you take care of your earlobes afterwards, the effects will remain permanent.

If towering heels are more your style, then you are probably used to the pain associated with the awkward position of your feet. Blisters, corns, and sore muscles are commonly reported complaints from women who love their stilettos. If you can’t shake the habit, plastic surgery can help.

Some women go to the extreme and have their toes shortened. A more common and less risky procedure is adding an injectable to the ball of the foot to create extra cushioning. Injectables can last anywhere from a three months to a year, are fairly inexpensive, and carry minimal risks. Toe shortening will require a longer recovery period and a careful consideration of possible complications that could arise.

You don’t have to let fashion trends weigh your ears down or wear out your feet. Cosmetic surgery options can allow you to sport your favorite styles without sacrificing personal comfort. If you’re considering either earlobe or stiletto surgery, research your doctors and weigh all the risks carefully before committing to a decision.

Cosmetic surgery is not a sharply defined area. An operation of any kind should achieve a good cosmetic result, even an appendectomy or a back operation for a ruptured disc. Also, many cosmetic operations have a functional as well as cosmetic aspect, such as upper eyelid surgery to improve the field of vision, or breast size reduction to alleviate neck, back, or breast pain.

By virtue of common usage, cosmetic surgery has become an acceptable term. There are some plastic surgeons, however, who prefer the term aesthetic surgery. Cosmetic is derived from the Greek word Kosmos, meaning order, beauty, or improving on beauty. Aesthetic is derived from the Greek word Aisthetikos, meaning to perceive by the senses, or pertaining to the senses of the beautiful.

There is nothing new about the desire to look younger or more attractive. Improving self-image is an acceptable concept in today’s health regime. Most American women discuss restorative surgery with their friends and family and they do not feel guilty about having such surgery performed. Of course, they do not usually advertise their operation and sometimes ask how they can camouflage the postoperative look so they can return to work as soon as possible.

Many factors account for the increasing popularity of cosmetic surgery. Contemporary culture in the United States is preoccupied with youthful appearance. Women who are threatened with the loss of a job because the look too old, may have cosmetic surgery for monetary reasons. Unfortunately, many employers value the look of blooming good health associated with youth rather than years of experience and a mature sense of responsibility. The “baby boomers” in the workplace are well aware of this. Now entering their fifties, this generation was the first to enjoy the many advantages of modern medicine. They enjoyed the protection of the polio vaccine and life-saving advantages of antibiotics. Fitness programs and better eating habits have contributed to their good health also.

Another factor that accounts for the recent increase in cosmetic surgery is the publicity it has received in newspapers, women’s magazines and the media. Prior to 1979, ethical plastic surgeons did not advertise. Then the Federal Trade Commission declared that this restriction created a monopoly, which was illegal. Now physicians, even those not trained in plastic surgery and advertise and they do. As a result, the number of people, particularly women, seeking cosmetic surgery has increased. So too, has the number of the qualified and unqualified practitioners.

Only diplomats of the American Board of Plastic Surgery are recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialists as specialists in plastic surgery. They have been trained in general surgery and subsequently in plastic surgery and therefore are qualified to operate on the entire body. Other groups of physicians operate above the collar bone on the head and neck. Dermatological surgeons perform chemical peels, a popular way to defeat the skin’s aging process.

Who pays for cosmetic surgery? Being elective, it is usually paid for by the patient. Surgery to correct congenital deformities such as cleft lip and palate, deformities resulting from accidental injury and cancer deformities such as mastectomy may be covered by insurance. Some women forgo vacations and others spend practically no money on clothes for years so that they can save up for cosmetic surgery. Some borrow money; others sell a valuable piece of jewelry. Girls in their teens are sometimes given money to spend on a “nose job” for their 16th birthday.

Scars are simply a part of the human body’s natural healing process, while tattoos are something people have usually intentionally applied to their bodies. However, as they age many people decide it is time for them to seek the help of a cosmetic surgeon to have the look of scars and tattoos on their body lessened.

Tattoo Removal

Many people in their 40s and 50s reach a point where they have decided that the tattoos they loved as younger adults are no longer appropriate for their current life. Additionally, tattoos do not always hold their quality look over time and sometimes get to a point where they simply must be removed. The good news is that most tattoos can be removed using lasers and other cosmetic surgery techniques. While the tattoo may never be 100% removed, the look of it can be lessened to very acceptable levels.

Scar Removal

Just as people choose to have tattoos removed, they also sometimes choose to have scars removed as well. Whether the scars are caused by an accidental injury or from a surgical procedure, scars can be unsightly if they are in a very obvious location on the body and can cause the owner to become self-conscious about them.

While scars cannot be completely removed by any cosmetic surgeon, their look can be greatly improved through injections and scar revision procedures. The least invasive option for scar removal is through the use of injected steroids. If the scar is located on the face, sometimes a technique known as dermabrasion is used. Dermabrasion involves controlled removal of the top layers of skin using a specialized tool; it will not completely remove scars but it can lessen their appearance.

One of the most common ways for a plastic surgeon to remove scar tissue is to cut out the tissue itself and re-sew up the area using very small stitches. By taking their time, a qualified plastic surgeon can create a new scar in the same area which is much less noticeable than the original for which it is replacing.

Another common plastic surgery scar removal technique involves the cosmetic surgeon repositioning an incision so that it will heal in a natural fold of the skin or in a less visible location on the body.

Skin Grafting and flapping are also cosmetic surgery techniques used to reduce the scar visibility but there are chances that the transferred skin may not exactly match the color and texture of the surrounding skin, thereby producing satisfactory results.
Anesthesia for Tattoo and Scar Removal

Tattoo removal plastic surgery is generally done using local anesthetic in a plastic surgeon’s office. However, the more invasive forms of scar removal are usually done under a general anesthesia in a hospital or surgery center’s operating room.

Final Thoughts

If you will be undergoing any of these removal procedures, it is vital that you work with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and that you take care to follow all of their instructions both before and after your surgery. By doing so you can ensure that you get the best results possible!

Are you looking to undergo cosmetic surgery? Regardless of what type of procedure you are looking to have, whether it be liposuction or a facelift, you may be concerned with cost. In fact, cost is a concern of many hopeful cosmetic surgery patients.

Affordable prices and cosmetic surgery aren’t always two things that are associated with each other. That is why those who are on a budget often examine cosmetic surgery abroad. You may be doing the same thing, but is it really cheaper? In all honesty, yes and no.

Although a mixed answer isn’t likely what you wanted to hear, it is the truth. There are a number of qualified cosmetic surgeons overseas who are known for producing quality, amazing, and flawless results. The only difference, in some cases, is that the surgical procedures do not cost the same. This is due to the fact the cost of living has an impact on the sale of services and goods. Since the cost of living in the United States is quite high, many individuals, like you like, look abroad.

Although you may be able to find cheap cosmetic surgery procedures, like liposuction, facelifts, and excess skin removal, available abroad, there are some important points that you will first want to take into consideration. These points, a few of which are outlined below, should be examined before you start making your travel arrangements and before you officially book your appointment.

The overall cost of undergoing cosmetic surgery abroad should be examined. You need to examine more than just the cost of surgery. What about the cost and the time that it will take to get a passport? The cost of airline reservations should also be examined. How do you intend to travel once you arrive at your destination? Examine the cost of public transportation or the cost of renting a car.

It is also extremely important that you examine the length of your stay. Some cosmetic procedures, including full body lifts, aren’t just get up and run procedures. You may need to return to have a post-surgery checkup, return for additional work, or you may have to return if complications arise. This can impact your cost of travel, as well as the length of your trip. How long will you need to stay at a hotel? How much work will you end up missing?

Perhaps, the greatest point that needs to be taken into consideration, when examining cosmetic surgery abroad, is safety. As it was previously stated, there are some cosmetic surgeons abroad who do produce flawless results, but the others can do more damage to your body. Not all countries have the same medical standards, rules, and restrictions that the United States does. This means that there is an increased chance of complications, including a staph infection from unclean instruments.

If you do opt for cosmetic surgery abroad, it is important that you do the proper amount of research first. You can use the internet. Once you have the name of the surgeon who would perform your surgery, perform a standard internet search with the name. Are there any complaints or warnings posted online? If so, it may be best to examine other abroad surgeons or even stay closer to home. In fact, you may simply just want to target the largest city that is closest to your home. This should give you more options, qualifications, and prices to choose from.

The History of Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic surgery has been around for so long that it actually has no traceable beginning. As far back as ancient Greeks and Romans there are depictions of cosmetic procedures occurring to fix disfigurements that occurred at birth, as punishment for a crime, or war injuries. Of course, there have been constant improvements since the very first nose job, but the fact remains that for as long as there have been people, they want to look and feel their best.

Cosmetic surgery was once thought of vanity procedures reserved for the wealthy and the famous. This is no longer true. With increased pressure from society to reverse aging and to lose weight, cosmetic surgery has been steadily increasing in popularity and accessibility. “Medical Advancements In Cosmetic Surgery” has made it accessible to any one who desires it.

Once upon a time cosmetic procedures were considered appropriate for aging women. Today, it is no longer a gender specific specialty. Men are having more nose jobs and even tummy tucks performed than it was ever once thought possible. Age is no longer a critical factor. People in their teens, although most surgeons don’t recommend it, are having cosmetic procedures done. Those in their thirties and forties are quickly replacing the market and having anti aging procedures done as early as twenty seven.

Regardless of personal opinions about the popularity of cosmetic procedures and the “Medical Advancements In Cosmetic Surgery”, the increased desire to fix ourselves has led to a revolution within the industry. No longer are simple procedures cost prohibitive as price reduction has made it possible for many more people to elect to have these procedures performed.

“The medical advancements in cosmetic surgery” that have taken hold within the cosmetic industry have decreased the associated risks as well as decreased the drastic healing time that was once necessary for these procedures. It is now possible for a person to have a cosmetic procedure done on a Friday and return to work the following Monday, depending of course on the procedure.

There has been a race among plastic surgeons to make their services more accessible by making them more attainable. Medical advancements have led to less intrusive procedures and of course, more quick and easy procedures.

The Most Popular Cosmetic Procedures

“Medical Advancements In Cosmetic Surgery” have made cosmetic surgery very popular some procedures more then other. No one can really answer why certain procedures in the cosmetic industry have become so popular other than their ease of recovery and their basic simplicity. Most of the popular cosmetic surgery procedures are simple and easy fixes that aren’t nearly as dramatic as some of the more global enhancement operations.

The nose job, of course is ranked the most popular cosmetic procedure out there. A nose job is mostly a low to moderate intrusive procedure that dramatically alters the appearance of the face. A good rhinoplasty can significantly improve an individual’s facial appearance.

Liposuction is a very close second in the cosmetic procedure popularity contest. Americans in particular are quite overweight. In fact between five and fifteen percent of the American population is dramatically obese while seventy percent is a least somewhat overweight. These are staggering numbers. Liposuction has become popular because the results are typically top notch.

A simple eyebrow lift can truly enhance a face and take years off tired eyes. It is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures because it is truly a simple procedure with dramatic results. Both men and women find eyebrow lifts to be worth the money for their combination of results and discretion.

Breast enlargements are the fourth most popular cosmetic procedure despite the scare of the early nineties when breast implants began to leak silicone into their clients’ bodies. With the medical advancements in cosmetic surgery, the following year the plastic surgery community was able to produce safer breast implants and once again breast enhancement surgery was on the rise. Breast enhancement surgery has been a hot topic of social debate since the seventies when they first began their popularity ascent. Breast enhancement received a lot of attention for their medical advancements.

The face lift comes in at number five in the popularity contest regarding cosmetic procedures. While most clients are quite happy with the results, it is a more intrusive procedure and requires a longer recovery period than most of the more popular plastic surgery procedures.

Psychological Benefits of Plastic Surgery

Since its inception and “Medical Advancements In Cosmetic Surgery”, plastic surgery has allowed people to feel better about their outward appearance. Though it originated as a medical process of repairing disfigurements, the medical advancements of plastic surgery have encouraged the world to embrace a more beautiful side to themselves.

Most patients who have undergone cosmetic procedures report having a higher self esteem and a better quality of life. It is difficult to say whether their improvements in the quality of life come from a prettier face or from their improved self esteem, but ninety seven percent of all plastic surgery patients report appreciating the difference and would do it again if faced with the same options.

There are of course risks that are involved with any cosmetic procedure. These risks include complications from anesthesia, incomplete improvement and even disfigurement. Most doctors will tell you that the “medical advancements in cosmetic surgery” have drastically reduced the chances of the associated risks.

Two Brand New Procedures

Two of the newest “medical advancements in cosmetic surgery” are captique and contour threads. Both of these new procedures were designed to minimize both the typical risks involved with cosmetic surgery and the invasive procedures available. The medical advancements in cosmetic surgery push through quickly in an effort to provide faster, less invasive options to the clientele.

Captique is a new procedure that has jest been introduced to compete with the face lift and Botox. It is a chemical filler that is injected into the skin which in turn drastically reduces wrinkle appearance. It is completely synthetic and not derived from any animal products. The entire captique procedure is a quick outpatient visit that can be completed in about fifteen to twenty minutes, and the patient is then free to drive home. It does not act as a paralytic as Botox does, so the patient can reduce wrinkles while still maintaining facial expressions. Captique is currently only available in a few select clinics.

Contour threads is a brand new procedure that resembles a facelift, but it allows for the patient to retain their more natural and relaxed appearance rather than end up with tight skin pulled back over the head. Contour threads have actually been used in various other medical procedures, but have only recently become available in the cosmetic industry.

Contour threads are made from a clear, soft polypropylene. This eliminates the dark stitch areas that traditional stitches are known to leave behind. In the correct hands, contour threads can produce a very soft face devoid of wrinkles and serious signs of aging.

These two “medical advancements in cosmetic surgery” have created quite the excited buzz in the cosmetic industry. With leaps forward such as these it may actually be possible one day to get anti aging procedures done in an afternoon and return to work the next day as though nothing extraordinary happened.

Continual Progress

The cosmetic industry will continue to have remarkable advancements in its field and continue to produce procedures that can create wonderful outcomes with minimal interference in daily life. The less invasive these procedures become, the more popular they will become as well.

The cosmetic industry is attempting to produce natural results that only those closest to the patient will ultimately be able to discern plastic surgery procedures. The surgeons and researchers have of course not forgotten the original intent of the cosmetic industry. They are continually prototyping advancements in correcting birth defect and accidental disfigurements as well.

It is an exciting age to live in. We are rapidly approaching another outstanding revolutionary period in the cosmetic industry. It is important to keep yourself informed is you are even contemplating having any cosmetic procedure done. Sometimes waiting as little as two or three months prior to committing to a cosmetic surgical procedure can allow enough time for a new product to finish being tested and hit the market. With each “medical advancement in the cosmetic surgery” industry, each procedure will become less invasive and easier to recover from.

Keep yourself informed of upcoming advancements and procedures that may very well benefit you. Visit lifeplasticsurgery to keep on top of the latest news and happenings in the cosmetic industry. Here you can learn about nearly every available procedure and even a few that are almost available. An informed client is a client that is truly ready to face cosmetic surgery and come through with reasonable but good expectations.

There are many cosmetic treatments available some involve surgical procedures such as a brow lift or a breast uplift. However, non surgical cosmetic treatments are a popular, non invasive choice for many people which do not carry the health risks associated with many surgical procedures.

Botox can be used to reduce wrinkles on the forehead, between the brows, the eye area and around the mouth. Botox can also be used the on lower face and neck area, usually this is used in conjunction with dermal fillers. Smiling or frowning is a result of a nerve signal from the brain, Botox blocks these signals which results in the skin becoming smoother and unwrinkled. The resulting smoother skin is noticeable after about eight days, although it can be a further two or three weeks before the full effects are seen. The Botox injections last for between twelve to sixteen weeks, however, with repeated treatments the effects begin to last slightly longer.

BioSkinJetting is carried out by beauticians, thin probes are inserted into a wrinkle and then agitated, this detaches the top layer of skin and encourages the production of natural collagen fibres. The developing fibres push the top layer of skin out reducing the appearance of the wrinkle. This non surgical cosmetic treatment takes less than an hour to carry out, but it may be necessary to have up to five sessions every two weeks before the wrinkles begin to fade.

Microdermabrasion is another non surgical cosmetic treatment which lessens the appearance of fine lines, uneven pigmentation, and blackheads. Microdermabrasion is used to realign the skin cells in the surface layer of skin and to stimulate collagen growth, which thickens the skin and can help to fight the signs of ageing, as well as help improve scarring.

Chemical peels can be effective surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments. Peels are designed to improve skin appearance, uneven pigmentation, acne scarring and are also used to reduce the effects of smoking and sun exposure. Chemical peels quicken the removal of old, dead skin cells to promote new cell growth. There are three types of chemical peels available; superficial, medium or deep. With all peels it is necessary to prepare the skin prior to the treatments to ensure that it is the best possible condition.

Superficial peels can be carried out by beauticians as they only remove the top layer of skin, however repeated treatments are usually necessary to maintain the effect.

Medium peels are carried out by doctors as they remove skin from both the top and middle layers, these peels last for between six and twelve months.

Deep peels have ‘lasting effects’, however they must be carried out by a surgeon or dermatologist as a local anaesthetic or sedative may be required. There will be peeling, redness and swelling which can last up from two weeks to three months depending on the individual and the type of peel used.

Although they are not as invasive as cosmetic surgery procedures, cosmetic treatments still require a great deal of consideration and can be expensive, however if treatments are needed to reduce scarring after trauma they may be included in the cost of the initial procedure.
